The Brain Injury Center of Ventura County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the primary mission to improve the quality of life for those impacted by brain injury residing in Ventura County including brain injury survivors, and their families/caregivers. The organization assists those at any point in their recovery, but they focus on care transition from hospital to home with the belief that the earlier the better for patient recovery. In addition to helping the survivor of brain injury adapt to normal life and achieve self-identified personal goals the organization offers support to the caregivers and helps them adapt to changes and challenges brought on with the care of survivors of brain injury. The business began as a bi-monthly support group, by providing social opportunities for survivors and families a place to discuss challenges, share information, receive support, and connect with others. In 2019 the business expanded and began operating a 6-bed Adult Residential Facility known as Banner House, operated by certified brain injury specialists and provides activities that focus on cognitive and physical rehabilitation.
