Eduardo Brugman, Chief Information Officer

In addition to overseeing marketing efforts for the Association of Financial Development Corporations (FDCs), Eduardo Brugman serves as chief information officer for Small Business Development Corporation of Orange County, one of the seven FDCs under the association’s umbrella.

As the corporation’s CIO, Mr. Brugman is responsible for the oversight of the corporation’s technology, communications, marketing, and development needs. The position, which he has held since 2019, helps drive the corporation’s mission of aiding small businesses and nonprofits owned by women, veterans, the disabled, and people of color and of building up underserved communities of need. Above all, his work provides a conduit by which he can live out his values that are based on the importance of equitable opportunity for all to reach their potential and succeed.

His current role builds upon an extensive career in higher education, information and digital technology, communications, and marketing. In addition to his work at Small Business Development Corporation, Mr. Brugman also serves as adjunct professor of information systems management at the Zapara School of Business at La Sierra University in Riverside, Calif. He previously functioned at the business school as coordinator of technology and online education for over 11 years, developing and implementing technology strategies and innovating the classroom experience. In prior years he served as a multimedia developer for the university. He also taught as an adjunct professor at American Graduate University, California Preparatory College and Sumner College of Health Science in the areas of general management, web publishing, digital imaging and desktop publishing.

Mr. Brugman has also held communications and creative director roles for technology and broadcast companies and currently sits on several non-profit and advisory boards.
