Paying It Forward
At Small Business Development Corporation of Orange County, we care about not only helping to grow local businesses but to make sure that we encourage our future leaders.
SBDC-OC awarded a total $20,000 in grants recently to three higher education institutions in Southern California’s Inland Empire. The SBDC of Orange County helps a wide range of small businesses and nonprofits secure access to capital and grow their organizations. This year, the nonprofit distributed surplus funds that will aid marketing and business students, and student entrepreneurs. The economic development nonprofit provided grants to the following educational institutions:
• Tom and Vi Zapara School of Business at La Sierra University
• Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration,
California State University in San Bernardino
“Because of our public mission, when we have surplus funds, we distribute those funds to benefit the community,” said the corporation’s President and Chief Executive Officer Michael A. Ocasio. “And as a nonprofit, we support other nonprofits with a community-focused mission.”
