Michael A. Ocasio, chief executive officer and co-founder of Small Business Development Corporation of Orange County was recently named vice chairman of the Eagle Community Credit Union Board of Directors. Ocasio stepped into the role in February following about a year of volunteer service on the credit union’s board.
Lake Forest-based Eagle Community Credit Union is a cooperative that is owned by its members. It is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing excellent service and ensuring member satisfaction. This commitment to service excellence is fundamental to their identity as an organization.
Michael A. Ocasio, CEO, Small Business Development Corporation of Orange County, recently named Vice Chairman of Eagle Community Credit Union Board of Directors.
Eagle CU has a rich history that dates to its beginnings as Orange County Postal Credit Union in 1937. For many years, they exclusively helped postal and federal employees build their financial futures. Today, they are a community credit union and anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Orange or Riverside counties can become a member. However, the institution continues to take pride in and is honored to serve their core postal service workers and federal employees.
Mr. Ocasio joined Eagle’s board early 2024 and describes his role as a board volunteer as helping to grow the credit union’s field of membership, service and lending platforms to include the delivery of commercial credit products and government lending programs that support our small business community through its proposed certification as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) under the U.S. Treasury Department.
“I am privileged to fill the board vice chairman’s role with this time-honored credit union which has worked hard over the years to earn the trust of the community,” Ocasio said. “I look forward to my continued involvement with this service-focused organization and assisting in their important work.”
