A new pediatric clinic operated by four doctors is bringing additional healthcare services and new jobs this spring to Orange County, through the assistance of a state loan guarantee that backed needed capital.
Sunshine Pediatrics OC, Inc. was established in 2025 in Irvine under the ownership of four equal partners, each a physician. The startup opens this spring, according to their website, and is creating eight new jobs with expectations of additional staff in the future.
To complete and open their business, the owners needed an $800,000 term loan for working capital, soft construction and startup costs. Their lender, Live Oak Bank, reached out to Small Business Development Corporation of Orange County for collateral assistance through the state Small Business Loan Guarantee program. The state guarantees are offered through the California Infrastructure and Development Bank (IBank). The development corporation approved a guarantee on 80% of the needed capital, allowing funding of the loan.
Pediatric services offered will address the physical, emotional, and social well-being of children from birth through late adolescence, managing everything from routine care to complex medical conditions.
Sunshine Pediatrics’ owners collaborative experience includes working together at Coastal Kids in Irvine and Hoag Hospitals. Information about the opening of their practice is available on their website along with a sign up form for receiving updates.
