Foundation's celebration helps bolster support for at-risk young people

On October 17, SBDC-OC leadership attended the 28th Annual Ambassador Celebration with Ambassador and Board Member, Syliva Pizarroso, Center Director of the Finance Center at Orange County/Inland Empire SBDC Network. The event benefitted the Orangewood Foundation that serves young people between ages 16 and 25 who are aging out of the foster care system in Orange County, or who are experiencing homelessness or trafficking.

The foundation supports these young people in four major areas – basic needs, employment and life skills, housing and education. SBDC-OC was honored to help support this remarkable organization that plays such a pivotal role in the lives of youth who are most in need of assistance and guidance.

Below, SBDC-OC Chief Executive Officer Michael Ocasio poses for photos during the 28th Annual Ambassador Celebration held at the opulent AV Irvine event center. The unique event offered interactive stations where attendees were able to experience the challenges that foster youth must face and overcome after aging out of foster care, as well as the experience of support, nurturance and care the foundation offers to young people at risk.
